Everything you want to know.

Straight answers on setup, coaches, players, streaming, pricing, privacy, and how Make A Draft relates to League Joe.

Setup

Yes. Upload it or paste your list directly — no special format required.

Most organizers go from a player list to a ready draft in minutes. Name your event, set the number of teams, and upload your players.

Upload a spreadsheet (Excel or CSV — a Google Sheet downloaded as CSV works too), match up your columns, and Make A Draft builds the pool for you.

Run a quick draft: upload your list and turn on autopick for every team. The software makes each pick in turn — no coaches or live event required.

No. Everything runs in the browser, including setup.

Coaches

No. Coaches draft from any modern phone browser — nothing to download.

Yes. Coaches can draft from the field, home, the stands, or anywhere with a connection.

Coaches claim a draft spot, name their team, study the player list, queue picks, and make selections live.

Yes. Coaches can build a queue so they are ready the moment they are on the clock.

Players

Yes. Players join a lobby from their phone and watch picks unfold in real time.

Recent picks, team rosters, their own assignment, opponent rosters, and where to go next.

No. The player lobby runs in the browser on any modern phone.

Every player sees their team, teammates and coach the moment the draft ends.

Streaming

Yes. Use projector mode or screen capture to stream to Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, or anywhere else.

Yes. A full-screen display mode shows animated pick reveals, team logos, and an on-the-clock countdown.

Yes. Capture the display to record it, post highlights, or create shareable moments.

Pricing

Try one draft free (up to 50 players). Paid plans are sized by players and draft credits: Starter $19/month or $199/year (up to 100 players), Growth $39/month or $399/year (up to 200), and Program $59/month or $599/year (up to 500, multi-league & multi-sport). See the pricing page for the full comparison.

A draft is one league or event setup — a season, tournament, or short-format event — and uses one credit. Monthly plans get 1, 2, or 3 drafts each month. Annual plans bank the whole year up front (12, 24, or 36 credits) so you can use them whenever your seasons happen before your plan renews. Unused monthly drafts do not roll over.

You do not have to jump plans. Buy an extra draft credit for $20, or add 100 players at a time ($5 a month or $50 a year). If you keep needing more, moving up a plan is usually the better deal.

No. Starter already includes live coach drafting, the player lobby and projector, and live broadcast. Move up for sponsor tools, player history, and multi-league support when you are ready.

Yes, on Enterprise. Our team can produce your draft night for you — a remote producer, run-of-show, and event support. Talk to us.

Data & privacy

Your draft is yours. Player data is used to run your event — it is not shared publicly unless you choose to stream or post it.

Players only need enough to be added to the draft pool. You control what is collected and displayed.

On paid plans, your rosters and draft history stay available so you can reference past seasons or run a redraft. Free draft data is kept for at least 30 days after the draft. Upgrade to keep your history.

Admin, security & control

Access is role-based. Commissioners run the draft and change settings, each coach picks only for their own team (one drafter per team at a time), and fans and players watch. Spectator and projector views are read-only — nobody watching can touch the board.

Yes. Commissioner actions — pauses, undos, skipped teams, picks made on a team’s behalf, setting changes — are written to an action log with who did it and when.

No. Every draft is kept separate, with its own players, settings, picks, and chat.

Yes. Lock the player pool before the draft, and run the built-in rules check, which flags anything that cannot work (a salary cap nobody can meet, roster limits that do not add up) before the first pick.

Yes. Run a hidden-identity draft that swaps names for aliases and reveals them after the draft, or hide usernames on the board. You choose what shows on profiles.

Fans and coaches chat in separate rooms. Commissioners can remove messages and ban someone for the event, and you can turn spectators off entirely with one switch.

Yes — for larger organizations and companies, talk to us about Enterprise. The full feature list is in the technical specs.

League Joe relationship

Make A Draft is built by the League Joe team, but designed for outside organizers to run their own drafts.

No. Make A Draft is for any organizer running their own draft, regardless of whether you use League Joe.

It means the software is built on more than a decade of real draft-night experience — you get those lessons baked in.

During the open beta, Make A Draft is covered by League Joe’s Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy. League Joe Inc. runs the service and appears on your card statement.

Supported sports

No. We build for youth leagues first and softball second, and Make A Draft works for any team sport that drafts.

Any team sport where you assign players to teams — kickball, basketball, volleyball, soccer, and more.

Yes. Run a single live draft for a tournament weekend, or a quick redraft every week.

Troubleshooting

Yes. The commissioner can undo the last pick, and the pick clock goes back with it. You can also pause the draft, add time, skip a team, or make a pick for a team whose coach is away.

Coaches can rejoin from their browser and pick up where they left off; the live board stays in sync.

You can review and clean up the pool before the draft starts, so the list is right before anyone picks.
